The Research On Integrated VMI Mode For Regional Supply Chain Manufacturing Enterprises

In recent years, Vender Managed Inventory (VMI) has been recognized and adopted by more and more enterprises as a new kind of supply chain stock management mode in the world. With this mode being applied repeatedly and suppliers hoping to better control the stock for their customer, it becomes a trend for supporting manufacturing enterprises serving for the core manufacturing enterprise on the supply chain to build factories or storage centers around their core manufacturing enterprise, and in turn form a circle of regional supply chain manufacturing enterprise. However, a problem appeared at this moment that the material flow and the information flow of dispersed VMI can not meet new demand for development. Therefore, this paper proposes the integrated VMI mode for regional supply chain manufacturing enterprises (I-VMI). The mode is based on VMI and integrates the material flow and the information flow of regional supply chain manufacturing enterprises with the participation of Third Party Logistics. I-VMI will reduce the stock expenses of supply chain enterprises greatly so as to lower the cost of the whole supply chain.The main contents of this paper are as follows: First of all, the text analyzes the reasons why I-VMI is put forward, clarifies the definition of I-VMI, and expatiates on the benefits of I-VMI. Secondly, the paper proposes the whole operation process, and specific design for 4 differeent modules of I-VMI, namely, the core manufacturing enterprise, the suppliers, the third party logistics and the IT operation. Then, the technical support and implementation steps of I-VMI mode are proposed. Finally, taking the Beijing Nokia XingWang international industry zone as example, the paper analyzes how I-VMI will be applied concretely in practice.The original points of this paper are as follows: Firstly, the I-VMI mode is put forward, which runs innovatively by Automatic Replenishment System with the common participation of core manufacturing enterprise, suppliers, and the third party logistics. Secondly, in view of the partial changes of the function of the third party logistics in I-VMI mode, this paper designs how to lay out goods in warehouse and puts forward the integrated transportation strategy, thedirect transportation strategy and the function of increment service under the new situation. Besides, the I-VMI information system model is also established based on Internet/Intranet in this paper. At the same time, the paper has brought forward the channel - application, service provider, which suits the small and medium-sized enterprises.It is because the question this paper studies originates from the practical demand that the research on I-VMI has very important guiding significance in practice. In addition, the paper has enriched the research on related fields. Therefore, it has the high theoretical value.
