With the trend of globalization and keen market competition, also with foreign auto manufactures'entry to domestic market, China's auto industry still has many problems, such as: lack of high tech and R&D independence, small scales, and the scarcity of its own brands. As we all known, the technology and brand are the key factors for the development of auto industry in the time of knowledge economy. Under the analysis of relative competitive theories, this paper set up the related index system and model, and has a research on those major factors that affect the competitiveness of auto manufacturers and make sure the five main principal factors. They are economic scale, technology innovation, brand value, industry cluster, and product structure. The paper also put forward the strategies for promoting the competitive abilities of our country's auto manufacturers.The paper has 6 chapters.1.
