With the development of cities, there's an increasing demand for land. When peasants devote their land to the cities, their future comes to be an issue. They'll have to face a serious problem—occupation transformation.But for the peasants in underdeveloped regions, fields mean their jobs, their main source of income (for some, only). Without fields, it's very difficult for them to find a proper occupation. Now there's a limitation on how to settle them in cities. How to settle them now has become an important factor of restricting urbanization. And this conflict has become quite severe in some cities. The article has five parts:The first part is a brief introduction of the whole passage, including the reason why I chose to study occupation transforming of peasants of China, theoretical research of transformation of labor force in foreign countries, research of occupation t transformation of civil peasants, and some basic thinking and technical methods.The second part is an on-the-spot investigation to peasants' occupation transformation in Xi'an MaoPo village, which involves family structure, age structure, education situation, profession distribution, occupation constitution, non-agricultural employment, choice of employment place, wage, working hours, times and purpose of the occupation flows, and the main course of family.In the third part I analyze the reason of occupation transformation, especially form the aspects of out side environment and individual reasons. For instance, household register system, policy of land requisition, Local economy development condition, social security system, placement policy, training mechanism, and backward of the employment idea, the deficiency of human capital accumulation, lack of occupation experience, old age, poor physical condition, and sex difference.The fourth part aims at countermeasure to land lost peasants; briefly introduce the experience of rural labor force transformation in China and other countries.
