The Structure Evolution And Characteristic Research On The Urban System Of Hunan Province

The 21st century is a new urban century. Accompany with economic globalization, the urbanization is prompting forward rapidly,the urban system of each country is experiencing a new split and realignment and the embryonic of the world urban system has already formed. In the new round of urban system construction, how to form, develop and optimize the local urban system is a topic which is full of scholastic pursuit value and operation significance. In recent years, the three core growth poles of Chinese urban system develop extremely swiftly and the step of regional economic cooperation accelerates obviously, Hunan province is also mixing with the Pan-Pearl River Delta economic zone. Meanwhile, the rise of central economy strategy also brings a historical opportunity for the city development of Hunan Province. All these referred above have entrusted the urban system research of Hunan province with a richer connotation and stronger time effectiveness.Based on Hunan Province, this article begins with the angle of history and use time series to discuss and explore the characteristic evolution process of its urban system structure. Through the qualitative analysis, we conclude the development priority rule of the political-administrative center and six-feature of characteristic evolution. In order to grasp the urban system processes and evolution pattern of Hunan province comprehensively, this article has made further discussion on its structure characteristic: Through regression analysis, graph analysis and statistics analysis of the time series data and cross sections data, by combining with the fractal theory, we induce the following conclusion: the hierarchical size structure presents the law of the Primate City,the Rank-Size Rule and Pyramid Structure characteristic, but it also has the insufficient development problem of the high hierarchical size city. By using the gravitation model, we found out that the economy relation intensity among those main cities is weak while the structure is loose. Based on the urban layer system of economic development level and industrial structure evolution of the cities in Hunan province, this article then induces the function combination among the five urban Agglomerations in Hunan province. Through combination with the spatial structure system, the condition of road network transportation and the economic development, we carry on a qualitative analysis on the urban spatial distribution condition of Hunan province, the research indicates that the overall province is at a polarizing stage, but the distribution quite differs among each definite urban region.
