Along with the step of Digital Earth becoming mature, traditional GeographicInformation System based on2D or2.5D is hard to satisfy the visual psychology of modernpeople. So how to show the real world vividly is an current research hotspots. Datamanagement mode of geological data in many mine geology department is still verybackward, coal mine data management is still in scattered way. The demand to realizeinformationization is extremely urgent. Coal mine geological information relates to manysubjects, such as Geology, Surveying and Mapping Science and Computer Science, and thecontent cross is the research of Geographical Information Science. So virtual realization,informationization and large data is the trend of coal geological system development.This paper studies the design and implementation method of coal mine geologicalspatial database. By analyzing the essential technologies needed in each stage of3Dvisualization and the specialties of the Mine GIS, the paper detailedly introduced the methodsand steps of how the visualization of mining area can change from the traditional CADdrawings to the3D mode on the ArcGIS platform. And taking the practice in ShaanxiHongshiyan coal mine as an example to explain the theory and implementation of the dataprocessing, the paper, finally, provides a pleasant prospect of the developing trend of itsapplication.; using the surface modeling method, spatial interpolation of the coal mine drillingfloor data, the Multi-DEM model is constructed. To deal with the rock loss phenomenon, amethod by using grid calculating to extend the Multi-DEM geological modeling method ispropused. To display the geology profile and solve the problems of3D profile modeling in theapplication, a technology of building geology3D profile model is proposed in this paper. Bybuilding2D Profile Frame FeatureClass, using Left algorithmfor constructingtwo-dimensional profile, using affine transformation for reconstruct2D profile polygon FeatureClass, constructs a3D geological section and stores as Multipatch FeatureClass,realizing cutting analysis and geological profile reconstruction. The stratified geological bodymodeling is realized based on Multipatch. Reserves Management can meet the needs of dailyproduction of coal mine. The requirements analysis, overall design and detailed design arebased on the system integration demand of Shaanxi Hong Shiyan Coal Mine. Using unifiedmodeling language object-oriented to specify modeling description of requirement analysisand design stages. Using ESRI company’s ArcSDE spatial database engine and Sun’s Oracledatabase to store spatial and non-spatial data, using C#language and ArcEngine componenttechnology to develop the system, and good result is achieved.
