Logistics develops rapidly in a direction of modernization in our courtry as the scale of automobile industry enlarges day after day. Modern logistics enterprise utilize advance technology to cultivate a more scientific management, enhance their own competitive power to face the industry with intense competition. During this process vehicle remote monitoring system plays a important role.Vehicle monitoring system organically combines the process management and dynamic information of logistics transportation. It is a intelligent vehicle-supervised system based on technology of GPS, GPRS,3G, GIS, network communication, big data storage and processing. It is researched to provide firms with a more convenient and efficient way of logistics tracking, information inquiry and route planning.Through analyzing the theory of GPS, GIS, GPRS, according to the characteristics of logistics, a vehicle monitoring system is presented in this paper. Major work this paper did as follows:1) Generally introduces the domestic and international development status of Vehicle monitoring technology, analyses several essential technologies including GPS, GPRS, GIS and etc.2) Builds up the overall framework, analyses the function, proposes specific design objectives of each module.3) Divids the system into several parts by the principle of function division and makes modular design. Selects chip for every module, then comfirms the hardware configuration.4) Tests the design with vehicle terminal module and monitoring center, to realize vehicle real-time location, trajectory playback, path planning, collision warning and etc. This paper comprehensively expounds the design ideas of vehicle monitoring system. Debugging of software and hardware is also carried out and the results show that this system could fulfill the anticipated requirements.
