Addressing Climate Change:Trying To Integrate The Environment, Development And Fairness

Global climate change has deeply influenced the ecological balance of nature and sustainable development of society, it has turned to be one of the most severe and complicate environment challenges in human history. The severity of climate change promote us to reflect our methods of environment protection, our way of economic development and our structure of social distribution, that is the constant topic of environment, development and fairness. The reflection of the three elements under the background of climate change has its theoretical and practical significance:giving consideration to poverty and environment protection during economic development and form a harmonious relationship between climate protection and social justice.Beginning with environment, development and fairness these three dimensions, this dissertation tries to analysis the phenomena in the process of climate change:from the perspective of environment, the climate crisis caused by greenhouse gas emissions threat the global people’s health and survival; from the perspective of development, social crisis caused by the blindfold economic growth ignores the comprehensive and sustainable development of society; from the perspective of fairness, disproportionate harm caused by the global warming undermines the development of underdeveloped areas. We can see climate change is not only environmental issues, but also development issues and fairness issues. In the process of addressing climate change, we need to protect the environment, but also to develop the economy and to maintain the social fairness. For the conflict of environmental protection, economic development and social justice during addressing climate change, this dissertation identifies there ethical relationship and find ways to coordinate them. Some of the conclusions are:sustainable development could coordinate the conflict between environment protection and economic development; environment justice could coordinate the conflict between environment protection and social fairness; social justice could coordinate the conflict between economic development and social fairness; sustainable development based on fairness could coordinate the conflicts between those three factors, finally integrate the environment, development and fairness.In addressing Climate Change, domestic and foreign scholars focus on low-carbon economy, sustainable development, climate justice and so on. Research on the conflict of environment, development and fairness is less. Innovatively this dissertation tries to analysis climate change as problems of environment, development and fairness separately, identifies there ethical relationship and find ways to coordinate them. Creatively putting forward sustainable development based on fairness, and achieves the coordination of three different values among the environment, development and fairness through this path.
