Gear shaving is one of gear finishing operations, compared with the gear grinding,it has the advantages of high production efficiency, low processing cost and can fix theradial error etc, so it is widely used in gear manufacturing industry.However, aftershaved by shaving cutter with standard involute profiles, there are the“midconcave”phenomena on the pitch points of shaved gear tooth profiles. This phenomenonis moreapparent when shaving some gears with big modulus and low-number teeth.Thisproblem seriously effects the shaving accuracy and gear transmission quality, so it’snecessary to study the shaving mechanism and take effective measurements to solve it.The thesis makes systematic and deep studies and experiments on shaving process. Themain research achievements are as follows:①Based on the spatial meshing of crossed helical gear pair, this paper takes afullanalyticanalysis of spatial meshing of gear shaving, including derivation of meshingequation, solution of the mesh line and contact path and judgment of contact points. Thethree main factors that cause the tooth profile midconcave errorare analyzed andexplained in detail.②Using parametrized modeling function of UG, the3D solid models of the gearshaving cutter and the shaved gear were created. Carry out finite analysis on thedifferent meshing position with the software ANSYS. It provides a importantquantitative basis for further analysis of Concave error reasons and findingimprovement measures.③Respectively introduce the principle of negative modified gear shaving andbalance shaving and calculate shaving cutter’s design parameters of two kinds ofshaving method. Discuss the restriction conditions and the application scope of thesetwo methods.④Simplified the shaving cutter and the work gear into a static model, analysis theinstantaneous force. Calculate each instantaneous contact deformation and bendingdeformation with elasticity and material mechanicsrespectively, so the total deformationof each piont can be calculated.Based on the deformation of each point, use thenumerical method to take a curve fitting, this curve provides an important basis forenacting modification curve of gear shaving cutter.
