As Human entered the twenty-first century, the land use change has become the front subject in thecurrent global climate change research, the internal relationship between the land use and ecologicalenvironment has received more and more attention. With the large-scaled development of city infrastructureand construction, the large-scale transformation and reclamation of the land not only have resulted in afar-reaching influence on the land use intensity, mode, scale, layout and so on, but also have a great impacton the ecological environment, causing a serious threat to the ecological safety. The ecological environmentin Kashi region is very fragile, in order to ensure the local ecological security and stability, and to achieve asustainably economic and social development, we must put the coordination of land use and ecologicalenvironment onto a very prominent position. The question how to reach the economic and socialdevelopment demand for land, and promote the comprehensive development of economy and society, butin the meantime take into account the environmental protection and ecological construction, promote theharmonious and sustainable development of the society. has puts forward new standards to the landutilization. This article is based on remote sensing and GIS technology, through the change of effect of landuse in Kashi area to study the ecological environment, so as to provide scientific information for landecological security construction in Kashi area, therefore to promote the sustainable development of the landuse and ecological environment. The results of this research are listed below:Through the remote sensing respective images in1977and2012in Kashi area, the extraction of landuse variation and ecological environment information by using remote sensing and GIS technology, wehave drawn the thematic map of land use, built the transition matrix of land use, calculated dynamic degreeof land use, land use centre displacement according to the relevant theories and methods. And the resultsshow that in the Kashi area, arable land decreases and construction land increases under the influence ofeconomic factors, policy factors, demographic factors, natural factors, and large area of agricultural landhas turned into construction land, each kind of land use type is also moving with the expansion of buildingland.Based on the results of ecological environment in1977and2012remote sensing interpretation, wehave analyzed the mountain ecosystem and plain ecosystem in Kashi area (including artificial oasisecosystem, the natural oasis ecosystem, natural water ecosystem, and desert ecosystem) along with thechanges of them. In the past30years, artificial oasis ecosystem area increased, the natural oasis ecosystemarea reduced, less changes happened in desert ecosystem area. From three aspects, scale, structure and layout of the land,we analyzed the relationship between landuse and ecological environment, according to the "technical criterion for eco environmental statusevaluation" industry standard issued by the State Environmental Protection Administration,calculated5indicators which include the biological abundance index, vegetation cover index, water net density index, land degradation index and the environment quality index. The study reflects that ecological quality in1977in various regions of Kashi is average, but the ecological quality is poor in2012, and the ecological environment is getting more fragile.Based on the issue of the ecological environment in Kashi area,we brought up proposals andmeasures including the transformation of economic development mode, strengthening of the constructionof key ecological projects, the implementation of ecological agriculture, and strengthening of the ecologicalprotection investment.
