At present, the rapidly developing industrial production makes industrial pollutionproblems have become increasingly prominent. Traditional industrial pollution monitoringsystems are mostly based on wired communications monitoring technology. This technologydepends on the line strongly and the distribution of nodes is fixed. When new monitoringstations are needed, the network must be built again, so not only the costs of maintenance andequipment are very high, but also the measurement accuracy and timeliness are affected. Thewireless sensor network is an intelligent information system that gathered informationcollection, information transmission, and information processing. The sensor nodes perceiveand get the information of some important physical parameters. These data are sent out bywireless communication network. The network is low power consumption, fast deployment,unattended and low cost that is very suitable for industrial monitoring system which is notconvenient for line layout. Therefore, with the help of wireless sensor networks combined theInternet to create a real-time, efficient and accurate industrial pollution online monitoringsystem is very necessary, so as to provide real-time accurate industrial pollution data in timefor the regulatory authorities and make rapid response to pollution emergencies, exceedwarning on sewage enterprises.The paper applied wireless sensor networks to the industrial pollution sources monitoringsystem, and combining ZigBee technology designed an embedded industrial pollution sourcesonline monitoring System based WSN.The main work for this paper was reflected infollowing aspects:(1)Based on the analysis of the functionality and performance requirements of theembedded industrial pollution sources monitoring system, the paper gives the design online ofthe system and the design frameworks of the sensor node, the control node, the monitoring center. Meanwhile, we built the embedded hardware platform of the control node using ARMchips.(2)We completed chip selecting, circuits design and interfaces design of the wirelesssensor node hardware modules, designed software process, node communication protocolsand data formats of the sensor node, implemented CC2430application program developmentbased on the Tiny OS.(3)Build embedded Linux development environment of the control node, completedtransplant of the device driver programs, designed of communication protocols of the controlnode,so as to achieve the management of WSN upload data, remote communications, andinteractive features.(4)The paper discussed the monitoring center’s overall structure and requirementsanalysis and design requirements of the information management systems, gave functionmodules and database design of the information management software.(5)At last, we tested the feasibility and the actual transmission distance of the point topoint communications, verified WSN system network performance using the LPL protocol onthe TinyOS and analyzed the test data.
