Along with attention paid by our country to coal mine safety production,coalmine integrated system, which can reduce mining disaster to some extend, has beengradually applied in underground. However, there are still a lot of problems.Therefore aiming at these existing problems, wireless WiFi technology is introducedinto wired communication systems. And multi-functional smart miner’s lampsintegrating illumination, environment information collection, personnel locating,information exchange and early warning are developed, which can achieve minesecurity production and efficient management.Considered the coal mine special physical environment, the applicability of WiFiis analysed in this paper. WiFi technology is determined as the wirelesscommunication solutions. And the network transmission system architecture suitablefor smart miner’s lamps is designed. The smart miner’s lamps, which are made up ofmain board, sensor board and power supply module, adopt modular designarchitecture in this paper. Then hardware circuit schematics and software programs ofmain board, sensor board and power supply module are discussed in this paper.The hot spot effect of the tunnel with confined space and long chain inunderground mine is obvious and the access load of AP is limited. However, loadbalance of the the smart miner’s lamps hasn’t been considered, which will affect theoverall performance of WiFi networks. Combined with the typical scenarios of thetunnel and main factor about load, load balancing weights function and switchmechanism based on RSSI, throughput and error rate are proposed. Throughcomparing the throughput and balance index of algorithm based on RSSI and STA’snumbers with that of algorithm proposed in this dissertation,the result shows that theload balance mechanism proposed in this paper can improve network throughput,enhance the network performance effectively and achieve network load balancing.
