Ring rolling mill D53K-8000is used to produce large rings, it contains a axial rollingmechanism and a axial rolling mechanism, the machine can roll rings as big as Φ8000mm, themaximum axial force it provides is5000kN, the maximum radial rolling is6300kN. Theresearch object of this paper is axial rolling assembly of ring rolling mill D53K-8000, ANSYSsoftware is used as the tool to carry out the assembly’s strength analysis, stiffness analysis,modal analysis and axial roller thermal analysis. Hydraulic control curve has been studied toreduce the pressure of the rail. The research contents are as follows:(1) The ring rolling mill has two working styles, which are with and withoutcounterbalance cylinder. Each working style has two working positions, they are that thecontact surface is400mm from the apex of axial rollers and800mm from the apex. So thereare four working conditions in total. The four kinds of models are respectively imported intoANSYS after established by SolidWorks and then analyze the axial rolling mechanism’sstrength and stiffness. The results show that the slider is the dangerous structure, the rest meetrequirements; When working with counterbalance cylinder, the pressure of the rail is less, sothis working style is adopted.(2) Carry out the modal analysis of axial mechanism and obtain the the first five naturalfrequencies, they are17.93Hz,18.16Hz,20.55Hz,22.81Hz,25.15Hz. These naturalfrequencies can be used to develop the ring rolling strategy, if the working frequency avoids0.707~1.414times of natural frequency, resonance can be avoided.(3) The temperature field analysis of axial rollers is conducted by Using APDL language.After analyzing, the temperature field distribution can be gotten. The result shows that thehighest temperature lies on the place in touch with rings, with the increase of distance fromrings the temperature decreases.In order to reduce the pressure of guide, the oil pressure control formulas have beenworked out. Taking ring with the size of Ф1320×Ф1081×350for an example, the oil pressurecontrol curves can be obtained by using the formulas.The stiffness and strength of the axial rolling mechanism analyzed by ANSYS after thatthe unseasonable structures is modified, it is found that the stiffness and strength are all desirable. Bearing life also meets requirements.In summary, the axial rolling mechanism’s strength analysis, stiffness analysis, modalanalysis and axial roller thermal analysis are carried out in this paper, the oil pressure controlcurves are also studied, the unseasonable structures is modified. This article is helpful forensuring safety in production.
