Hot strip is an industrial raw material sectors of society in the national economy.Market demand for the large-size and high strength hot-rolled strip steel is growing biggerand bigger. All over the world, many steel companies have to make a positive response tothe market demand. However, the characteristics of the new large-sized and high strengthproduction make their capacity raising to very high level. The production capacity ofexisting facilities are not enough to achieve their goals.Down coilers, located at the end ofthe production line, is one of the main auxiliary equipment in hot rolling mill, theirabilities has a direct impact on the yield and quality of the products. For the case factoryneeds to produce new specifications of high-strength hot rolled strip, making formaximum carrying capacity of existing coiler assessment and ways to improve thetechnology and equipment to increase the production capacity of existing equipment torespond to changes in demand is particularly urgent. In reference to the basis of a large number of domestic and international literature onthe study and analysis of the type coiler, this paper made the following tasks: Making thecoiling processing in hot rolling mill as the research object, with using the nonlinear finiteelement software, establishing a coiler coupled two-dimensional finite element model ofthe thermal and structure, making the roll automatic jump before strip head coming.Amore realistic simulation of the hot strip from the pinch roll bite wound into a roll-to-rollprocess. We can know that: pinch roller system is not strong enough; mandrel&wrapperroller system can be used in the future. We can find that the constraints of productioncapacity bottleneck is the gear system of pinch roller. The text used nonlinear finite element simulation software to build a two-dimensionalfinite element model to simulate the real strip coiling process, and being able to get thepinch rollers, clamping force on the roll, main roll and torque data, show a completecontinuous coiling process, and the working of each device.Breaking the existing researchon the coilers stopping at merely partsof the equipment in research methods, reflect muchmore true hot-rolled coiling hot strips of actual working conditions.
