CNC engraving machine has been applied widely,Engraving machine need to havedifferent requirements according to demands of products.This makes engraving machinerealizes diversification to meet market needs.An in-depth research on Motion ControlSystem of CNC Engraving Machine Based on Rotational Parts is carried out in this paper.A general design of the CNC system is presented,especially its hardwareconfiguration and software design.Mechanical model of engraving machine is establishedwith SolidWorks,and its mechanical structures are analyzed.This paper uses“PC+PCI-1750”as the upper of the control of the CNC system based on WindowsXP,through the C++Builder6.0programming application,and call library function ofPCI-1750card,achieve the control of stepper motor.Multi-threading technology andinterrupt are provided by PCI-1750card to solve the multi-tasking real-time control ofCNC system.Inverter is applied to control Commutation and speed of the spindle.Each motion axestransmission and its optional of CNC engraving machine based on rotational parts areanalyzed.Mobile gantry structure is applied in the Y-axis,and gear-rack drive is used.Ballscrew drive is applied in the Z-axis.Rotary installation and the use of CNC dividing headare introduced.Several cylindrical helix interpolation algorithm and their strengths and weaknessesare analyzed,cylindrical helix is showed with two coordinates instead of threecoordinates,traditional point-to-point comparison method analog applications is extendedusing similarity principle to solve the cylindrical helix interpolation algorithm.The normalcurve of the engraving process issues on the cylindrical surface is solved using the fourthaxis alternative algorithm.A space curve parametric equation interpolation algorithm isproposed to solve conical surface helix interpolation operation,the interpolation algorithmis confirmed by experiments.In the production process,engraving patterns are generally more complex,manualprogramming can not meet the production needs,automatic programming can generatedNC procedures efficiently.In this paper,the rotational parts engraving automaticprogramming was realized using MasterCAM and the simulation process was studied.
