Some small sugar mills are facing elimination since accelerated development of transformation and upgrading, improvement of industrial scale level in Guangxi sugar industry. The governments encourage and lead some small or non-compliance sugar factories to merger or regroup. And such sugar factories need to improve productivity and reduce energy conservation and emission reduction in order to improve recovery of sugar and their competitiveness. Therefore, the technological improvement of squeeze is very important for high extraction rate and production capacity with the least amount of investment and high production safety.In this project, we study on technological improvement of squeeze based on two sugar factories with the cooperation of Guangxi Hepu Weiheng Sugar Co., Ltd, Guangxi Bobai Weiheng Sugar Co., Ltd and Guangxi Light industry institute of science and technology. The technological improvements include machine assemble technology of squeezer, efficiency of sugarcane crushed, feeding conditions, operating speed of squeezer, pressure utilization, maceration efficiency, juice discharge and management level. In order to make sugarcane materials pressed smoothly and reducing the burden of squeezer, we innovative ideas of machine assemble technology by means of reducing the work roller opening ratio appropriately and selecting modification value scientifically. Under such circumstances, production capacity and extraction rate can be improved with low-energy and low speed.The technological improvement of squeeze is significant through wet press test and statistical analysis of daily production records from2011to2014.Firstly, the extraction rate can be improved about0.5%on equal conditions. Secondly, energy consumption was reduced obviously. Power consumption of every squeezer was1.0~1.2kW-h/t with a0.6kW·h/t decline. Thirdly, production safety rate was enhanced and squeezers operated safely. Finally, the production capacity was improved with a low input. For example, Baisha Sugar Factory increased capacity of500t/d with a low input.
