The Effect Of Laws&Regulations And Publicity On Residents’Determinants Of Electronic Wastes&Appliances Recycling Channels

ABSTRACT:In recent years, people pay more attention on recycling and disposal of waste household appliances, and China has established and implemented a number of measures and regulations aimed at guide and standardize the behavior of consumers, and improve the formal recycling channels. But the reality is, the role of the relevant regulations and public opinion have not been fully realized, there are still many consumers choose non-formal recycling channels. Although many domestic and foreign literatures focused on the disposal of household waste appliances, they are not focused on residents’ choice of waste household appliances recycling channels. What’s more, situational factors are not introduced in the models to study of the moderating effect. Therefore, research on the effect of situational factors on determinants of Electronic Wastes&Appliances recycling channels has important theory and realistic meaning.Based on the TPB, and reviewing of domestic and international literature, we put Laws and Regulations, Publicity as two situational factors into the model, to build the Model of Resident’s Determinants of Recycling Electronic Wastes. Then we design the questionnaire based on the research and the Measurement of variables. After the pre survey and revise of the question, the formal questionnaire completed. We choose residents of Beijing as samples, and212valid questionnaires were recovered. We use SPSS to make the reliability and validity analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, to confirm the assumptions, and finally determine the final model.The result shows that Attitude, Subjective norm, and Perceived Behavioral Control has significant influence, and has Positive correlation on the choice intention of Waste electrical appliances, Laws and Regulations and Publicity also has significant influence on the determinants of Waste electrical appliances, known as key interpreting variables. Meanwhile, Laws and Regulations has moderating effects on the route of Attitude-Intention, Subjective norm-Intention, and Publicity has moderating effects on the route of Attitude-Intention.Based on the results above, the research finally identifies the effect of situational factors on determinants of Electronic Wastes&Appliances recycling channels, and Put forward suggestions on how to improve the residents’determinants of formal Electronic Wastes&Appliances recycling channels.
