Mine ventilator is one of the four key equipments of coal mine safetyproduction, responsible for conveying fresh air and reducing the concentration ofharmful gas.Conventional fan monitoring mode requires a lot of wiring, installationand maintenance is very troublesome and at the same time the used MCGS is onlysuitable for real-time display various sensors’ datas through PLC, it can’t handlelarge amount of datas such as vibration acceleration. In order to solve these problems,this paper based on embedded and wireless sensor network technology, designed aset of new mine ventilator monitoring and fault diagnosis system.The designed ventilator online monitoring system consists of dataacquisition module and data processing module. Chosing ZigBee wireless sensornetwork for the data acquisition module and adopting the embedded platform for thedata processing module.ZigBee wireless sensor network technology is responsible for the ventilatorstate data acquisition and transmission, including network coordinator, networkrouters and network terminal equipment. Network terminal equipment is designed asdifferent sensor nodes according to the state of the data, such as: includingtemperature acquisition node, transmitter acquisition node and RS-485communication node. Monitoring parameters include: motor bearing and statortemperature, working voltage and current of the motor, fan bearing temperature, thevibration intensity of the fan and vibration acceleration, and negative pressure oneither side of the fan impeller. ZigBee router node is only responsible for sensornode data relay, expanding the ZigBee wireless network coverage. While ZigBeecoordinator node is responsible for the establishment and the management of theterminal node of ZigBee network, receiving from data uploaded to the embeddedplatform of sensor nodes, and receiving the upper control command.Each sensor node uploads the state information through ZigBee wirelessnetwork to ZigBee coordinator, the coordinator through RS232serial port for dataexchange with embedded platform. Defined data transmission format and distributedcommand for each terminal equipment. The wireless sensor network provides threepackets for embedded platform: state information packets, vibration accelerationpackets and node information packets. Each packet contains different packet’s head, node ID and different number of bytes.The embedded platform uses ARM+Linux technology, building cross-compilation environment in PC, flashing the compiled u-boot, linux kernel, yaffsroot file system through the JTAG interface and serial port to NandFlash. Based onthe Qt graphical framework to develop the software applications running onembedded platform, its main functions include serial port data processing, fanrunning status data real-time display and storage, ZigBee nodes communicationquality monitoring, historical data query, preliminary analysis the ventilator faultsthrough acquisition of vibration signal in time domain index.The new type of ventilator monitoring system adopted ZigBee technology toavoid complex wiring, making the installation and maintenance more convenient, atthe same time the introduction of embedded systems improved the specificity andreliability of monitoring system and greatly reduce the cost...
