Considering the extraordinary complexity and difficult maintenance of mine wiring, a novel design strategy of mine gas monitoring system, combined with the current ZigBee technology, which is a kind of wireless-sensor network, has been proposed in this dissertation.First of all, after consulting a great quantity of references about mine security, with finding the defects of mine security monitoring in our country, a general design plan of mine gas monitoring system, based on ZigBee technology, is presented. According to the functional needs and the performance index, this plan, works with suitable selections of the necessary hardware, and the appropriate ZigBee protocol stack.Secondly, in line with the overall design plan of the system, the hardware circuit of a gas monitoring system is devised in detail. Three parts are included. The first part is the hardware design of the monitoring node, which consists of microcontroller, the RF interface circuit, the sensor interface circuit, the LCD module interface, the power module circuit, acousto-optic alarm module circuit, and JTAG program downloading and debugging interface circuit. The second part is the hardware design of the receiving node, which mainly contains the peripheral circuit of CC2430radio frequency chip, serial communication circuit, the key interface circuit, LED state indicating circuit, and the extended interface circuit. The last part is the PCB design and hardware production of all the nodes.Thirdly, according to the operational principle of hardware circuit, the diver program of software interface is accomplished, which includes diver of monitoring data sending, data acquisition diver of sensor, LCD diver, power/voltage detection diver, low power processing diver, data receiving diver of receiving node, and PC serial communication driver. At last, a total debugging is performed on the system driver and hardware, which indicate that the system can acquire the data correctly.Lastly, PC monitoring software based on Delphi was devised in order to observe and analyze the data, which are acquired and sent by the monitoring node. There is a detailed introduction of creation of Delphi database, creation of database table structure and access of databases. This monitoring software, mainly including user login management, the monitoring object management, real-time data monitoring, data querying, data processing and data output, is designed and developed on the Delphi IDE. After debugging and running, all the function of this software can work properly on receiving and processing data.
