However, as FDI is improving the economic growth of YangtzeRiver Delta region, carbon dioxide emissions are also increasing, theenvironmental quality of the whole area is facing great pressure of worsening. The impact of the inflow of FDI on carbon dioxide emissions is to relieve orcontribute on the earth? Explore the effects of the inflow of FDI to the carbondioxide emissions of Yangtze River Delta region, which has important guidingsignificances for the development of low carbon economy and the adjustment offoreign capital introduction policy will also matter the smooth transition of theeconomic development of Yangtze River Delta region. This paper firstly describes the background and research significance of theselected topic; combs the related domestic and abroad literature to lay thetheoretical foundation of the empirical analysis coming after. Then, the authoranalyzed the present situation of the utilization of FDI and carbon dioxideemissions about Yangtze River Delta region and conducted an empirical analysison the effects of FDI on carbon dioxide emissions of Yangtze River Delta areafrom three aspects that is the scale effect, structure effect and technology effectwith the use of relevant data of two provinces and one city of the Yangtze River Delta region from2000to2012. At last, the author calculated the direct andindirect effects of FDI on carbon dioxide emissions and drew the conclusion: FDIhas positive scale effect, positive structure effect and negative technology effecton carbon dioxide emissions and the terminal influence is negative. Finally, thispaper put forward some policy recommendations corresponding to the actualsituation of the Yangtze River Delta region on the basis of the results oftheoretical and empirical analysis.
