As a kind of transmission power, the bevel gears are widely used in the field oftransportation, heavy machinery and other fields. Logarithmic spiral line is applied totraditional spiral bevel gear, so the new gears can be found, called the logarithmic spiralbevel gear. It enables that the angle of the spiral line on the teeth are consistent, thus thestability of the gear mesh, bearing capacity, and so forth can get further improved. Thewhole modern industry is developing, more and more disciplines and technology methodsare integrated into the gear industry, and promote the industry to have a comprehensivedevelopment. Correlation detection methods of the gear are also developed from theobservation of the contact region prints to rely on photoelectric combined modern detector.These equipments can have a detection and evaluation of structure and precision and theywill adapt to the modern industrial development. Now many equipments in China aremainly provided from foreign well-known complains. Our companies are relative largelyby the products and technologies of foreign companies, so we have to use more spendingto buy their products. At the same time, advanced technology was completely blocked,holding the development of spiral bevel gear production measurement technology inChina. Although Chinese companies have these equipments, they may not have a capacityto finish the detection of the logarithmic spiral bevel gear. So, it is necessary to carry out astudy on the detection method of logarithmic spiral bevel gear, to master the coretechnology of processing and testing of complex gears. It will help our domestic gearmanufacturing industry to improve its strength and get rid of dependence on foreigntechnology. Based on the logarithmic spiral bevel gear digital conjugate theory andprocessing method, this paper researches how to uses the CNC gear measuring center tofind detection method of tooth surface, and then make a preliminary study on themathematical model of the machine tool error correction and compensation of thelogarithmic spiral bevel gear. As a part of the closed-loop system of the design andprocessing of the logarithmic spiral bevel gears, the detection theory of the gear is improved.1. The digital modeling method of the logarithmic spiral bevel gear isintroduced. The paper briefly discusses its basic features and design parameters, and tocalculate the higher precision of tooth surface model using computer softwares, based onthe principle of the formation of spherical involutes. It also provides the useful gear toothsurface for the detection.2. The measurement grid plan is determined. By rotating the projection, the3D geartooth surface is transformed to2D tooth surface. At the same time, the calculation methodof the coordinate of the measurement points is introduced, and the measured points arecalculated as the theoretical values, which can be easily compared with the actual values ofthe follow-up, and then the error margin is obtained.3.The measurement principle is introduced and the measurement method isstudied. This paper briefly introduces the general situation of the gear measuring center,expounds the transformation of the coordinate system, the meaning of the detection, theerror calculation method and so on. And making big wheel of the spiral bevel gear pair asan example of experimental measurements, it is concluded that the detection report,analysis report in numerical and image content. These are the supports to obtain higheraccuracy of the tooth surface.4. Error compensation and correction method is just studied primarily. Through theanalysis of logarithmic spiral bevel gear error, starting from the parameter adjustment ofprocessing equipment, it can establish the mathematical model for error correction,determined using AGA algorithm to complete the compensation, correction scheme andimprove the accuracy of tooth face.
