In recent years, with the rapid development of the coal industry, the level ofautomation of mining machinery is gradually increased. Scraper conveyors are widelyapplied in the coal industry. As a key component of the central groove scraperconveyor, central groove are high demand mass-produced. The central groove’sreliability and wear resistance is directly related to the amount of coal over the entirescraper conveyors and the overall performance.Welding is the major processes and key technologies during the manufacturing ofcentral groove. The traditional welding method is manual welding, which has a lowlevel of mechanization. In recent years, the central groove welding machine came intobeing, which improve the production efficiency, and reduce the labor intensity insome extent. The welding of central groove belongs to plate welding. The weld has avariety of forms, and the size and structure of the central groove itself is also diversity.Most welding equipment in our country is difficult to make quick response when thesize of central groove or the form of the weld are changed. In other words, theflexibility degree of the equipment is not high enough.This paper introduces a new central groove welding equipment, aim at resolvingthe central groove of flexible problem welding process. The main objective of thesubject aims to maximize efficiency and ease of operation of the workers on thepremise of ensuring the quality.This equipment using gantry structure in the mechanical part,5-axis3degrees offreedom, two torch move at the same time while welding. Using PLC as the maincontroller, and human-machine interface is responsible for the state parameter writingand monitoring, external control box for motion control, and including aid wirelesscontroller, rotary welding power supply controller.Software part of the process achieve through the preparation of flexiblealgorithms and crafts libraries. By establishing mathematical model of walking track,to support the equipment can make rapid response with changing few basicparameters when the walking track is changed. And establishing a complete library ofdifferent sizes central groove technology parameters, when changing weldingparameters, can directly select the central groove number to call.Using static measurement method to measure the deformation of the central groove after welding, measure hardfacing layer hardness. Both are using to examine ifthe quality of the work meets the requirements, and then test performance of thisequipment.
