Along with the design efforts for oil and gas project are more and more arduous, theproblem many oil and gas engineering consulting corporations are facing is the contradictionbetween design productivity and business, and contradiction between business and designquality. The traditional design method is mode of production like workshop which is centeredround individual or small group. All are centered round few designers. The ability of designerand auditing person determines the proceedings and quality of project. The difference ofability between designers results different project result. The standardizing design is based on specialization and standardization. The seriesdesign document is advanced, universal and reusable for stations, units and facilities of thesame type during project construction. On one hand, the design cycle is shortened and designquality is improved by utilizing the typicalness, standardization and universalization of designresult. On the other hand, the economical and reasonable scheme should be completedaccording to the change of design condition to meet the requirement of project construction. The standardizing design of station of long-distance natural gas pipeline could providediversified design result, while at the time maintaining a fairly high universalization. Therefore, standardizing design is a way to resolve contradiction between demand diversityand design standardization.Taking design of station in Yongtaiwen natural gas pipeline as example, long-distancenatural gas pipeline are modeled using software SPS. On the basis of process analysis, allstations along pipeline are classified and process unit area is divided into different modulars by fuctions. Finally, stations are modeled using software SP3D and standardizing design ofstation of long-distance natural gas pipeline is studied in detail. The “six unities” forstandardizing design of station is realized: unified coded identification system, unifiedconstruction standard, unified building layout and style of architecture, unified process flowand pipe arrangement, unified principle for fuctional modle classification, unified typeselection for equipment and material.
