Except for aesthetic factor such as color and pattern, the tactility such as softness andcomfortableness of fabrics is another important aspect in attracting costumers. Softeners as mostimportant chemicals in textile processing not only make the fabrics feel soft and comfort, but alsoimprove its resilience and tearing strength. Organosilicon polymer has been used as softener infabrics softening finishing for a long time. Modified polysiloxane is a most widely usedorganosilicone softener. Based on this, commercial ternary block copolymer silicon oil commoditywith the advantage of self-emulsifying quality appeared in1997, which remains a research hotpotso far.This kind of softener had already been applied in wool and synthetc fabrics. The effect onthe tactility and hydrophilicity of cotton fabrics affected by the formulations of the ternary blockcopolymer silicone oil MT and the amino silicone oil Rodorsil21650(abbreviated ascombination MR) was also studied. However, very few study focused on the one-bath finishing ofthe combination MR and crosslinking agent. This thesis mainly studies the combination MR’sapplication performance in softening finishing and durable press finishing of cellulose fiberfabrics.This thesis compares the performances of different organosilicon softener finishing products.The formulated softener MR finishing product owns better softness and smoothness than that ofthe commodity softener TF-468k, SIQ and WR1300CN and has a lower hydrophilicity(wettingtime30.2s) than that of SIQ(wetting time3.7s) and TF-468K(wetting time12.8s). The formulatedsoftener MR could obviously improve the softness of cotton poplin, cotton Khaki drills, flax andlyocell fabric,for which the average coefficient of friction(Smoothness) was lowered by26.1%、18.6%、7.5%and16.8%,respectively the wetting time was extended by4-27s. In addition,combination MR could also obviously improve the soft smoothness and hydrophilicity of polyester/cotton (50/50) fabric.Cotton fabrics were selected for studying the effect of softener on the resilience and strength.The results show that the winkle recovery angles of the fabric finished by the formulated softenerMR were lower than that of the fabric finished by amino silicone finishing agent WR1300CNand polyethylene softner Siligen PEP.The tearing strength retention rate of the product finished bythe formulated softerner MR is higher than that of WR1300CN and lower than that finished bySiligen PEP. Different performances of products finished by the combination MR and ternarycopolymer block silicon oil softeners SRS, JSS were also compared in the following thesis. Thetearing strength retention rate of the fabrics finished by the softener MR is higher than that of SESand JSS by6.6and7.0percent, but the the winkle recovery angle is lower by11and12percent.The products finished by the above chosen softeners have quite a close tearing strength, about1.0-1.2times better than the unfinished fabric. Compared with the finished products of otherorganosilicon softeners, the soft-finished product of the combination MR has the best breakingstrength.After the non-ironing finishing, the cotton fabric has an increased resilience and a decreasedstrength (especially the tearing strength). Different effects of different kinds of softeners on thefinished products’ tearing strength are also observed during the non-ironing finishing process.When the combination MR, WR1300CN and Siligen PEP were respectively co-bathed with lowformaldehyde crosslinking agent F-ECO, the cotton fabrics are non-ironing finished under theabove three different conditions. The finished product of the Combination MR has a moderatebreaking strength and has the worse wrinkle recovery angle and tearing strength. Of all theproducts finished in the one bath of the non formaldehyde crosslinking agent BTCA and the abovethree softeners, the product finished by the combination MR has the best breaking and tearingstrength. Its wrinkle recovery angle is less than that of WR1300CN and bigger than that of SiligenPEP. The combination MR finished product is more affected by home-laundry than that ofWR1300CN and Siligen PEP.
