Soft finishing is one of the most important technology of textile industry in the post-finishing procedure,which can provide soft and smooth performance for fabric and make fabric comfortable.Due to high cost performance and good softness,organic silicon softener has been widely applied in recent years.However,traditional silicone softener has poor over-all properties.Especially,when one of its properties is improved,other negative effects will be appeared,such as stability,resistance to yellowing he hydrophilicity.In this work,by means of distribution block polymerization method,a ternary block silicone softener with soft polyether and amine groups was synthesized using allyl epoxy polyether and amine polyether as functional monomers.In the molecular chain,there is hydrophobic organic silicon and hydrophilic polyether,which could provide comfortable feeling for fabric,and amine groups could fix the softener on fabric surface.The softener was also applied on fabric,and the effect on the properties of fabric were studied.The research contents and results are listed as follows:(1)Firstly,hydrogen-containing silicone oil containing 0.1%hydrogen was synthesized under the catalysis of sulfuric acid(98%)for 7 h with octamethyl cyclotetrasiloxane and1,1,3,3-Tetramethyldisiloxane as monomer and head agent,respectively.Secondly,through the addition reaction of hydrogen-containing silicone with epoxypolyether APEH-500 or APEH-1000(molar ratio at 1:2.1),epoxy-terminated polyether silicone oil was synthesized with Pt-silicone complex as catalyst and ethylene glycol monobutylether as solvent,and the reflux reaction was at 105 ~oC and kept for 4.5 h.At last,the epoxy-terminated polyether silicone oil was further reacted with two kinds of polyether amine ED-600 and ED-900 at 80~oC for 6 h with isopropyl alcohol as solvent,and the ternary block polyether amino modified silicone oil softener was synthesized.The molecular structure of the softener was confirmed by FT-IR.Moreover,the softener was emulsified,and the average diameter was about 68nm,and distribution index was 0.045.The Zeta potential of the emulsion attained 53.4 mV,exhibiting excellent storage stability.The softener emulsions with pH value at 5,7,9 and 11were also respectively shock for 1 h at 60 ~oC,80 ~oC and 100 ~oC,and no oil observed,no spot on fabric.showing good resistance to acid and alkali.(2)The obtained ternary block silicone softening agent was applied on cotton fabric,and the performance of handle,hydrophilicity,whiteness,breaking strength,dynamic friction coefficient and silicon content of the finished fabric were measured,and the relationship between the performance and softener amount was discussed.The results showed that the softener amount had a large influence on the handle and dynamic friction coefficient of the fabric.When the silicon content on fiber was high,the fabric had a good handle,and the dynamic friction coefficient between fiber and leather was low.With a high proportion of polyether chain,the hydrophilicity of the fabric was better.The performance of the softener was also compared with the main products in the market.The results showed that the softener had a slightly lower hydrophilicity than SI-205 and MAGNASOFT SRS,while the handle,whiteness and resistance to wash all exhibited a high level.Therefore,the over-all performance of the softener was superior to the main products in the market.
