Virtual Gear Measuring Center is a software system which is developed with the real gear measuring center as the prototype by using virtual technology.It is mainly used to complete the movement of the real gear measuring center,measurement process simulation and data processing and analysis,collision detection against virtual workpiece built by the triangle patches.In th e process of collision detection,the original traverse type scanning detection algorithm needs to calculate the distance between the probe to all the triangle patches on the workpiece,it takes to o long and the speed of collision detection and measurement movement does not match,which causes the gross error of the measurement results and even system crash.Aiming at these problems,in order to improve the speed of collision detection,the pretreatment of workpiece model partition + the method of traversal scanning detection was put forward in this paper.With this method the workpiece model was divided into multiple regions before the collision detection,in the process of collision making the intersection test for the probe and each regions,in the intersection area using traversal scanning algorithm for collision distance calculation,and return the correct touch measurement vector.Firstly,through analyzing the classic small block voxel subdivision method,in response to the characteristics of rotary workpiece,the pretreatment method of small sector voxel subdivision workpiece model was presented.Then against the sampling data asynchronous problem of the virtual gear measuring center,the multichannel data sampling synchronization was designed.Secondly,after the sector search + the program design of traversal scanning algorithm,the algorithm evaluation requirements was analyzed,algorithm evaluation software was written,by building cylinder,gear and other rotary workpiece models,the feasibility of the algorithm,algorithm efficiency,coefficient optimization of sector voxel subdivision and other evaluation experiments were carried out,the correctness and feasibility of the algorithm design was verified through experiments.Last,the whole virtual gear measurement center was simulated with an instance,the zero calibration and analysis,different precision involute templates simulation measurement and error analysis was completed.Finally the simulation measurement for the involute gear tooth profile,helix and pitch projects was realized,which laid a good basic for future error transfer me chanism analysis of gear measuring center and development work of complex workpiece measu rement program.
