Die casting can be high-volume continuous production the complex shape, contourclear, thin wall and deep cavity die casting, The advantages of die castingparts of thin, lightweight, high precision and high efficiency is shown, no other processcan comparison. But in the traditional die casting production, improving the processparameters can only rely on experience to judge, lack of scientific theoretical guidance.Use of computer simulation software, for casting production in the filling andsolidification process simulation Numerical, predict fill state castings, Solidificationsequence, the location and size of internal defects in casting, get the best casting processparameters. Provides the theoretical basis for improving the process parameters,improve casting yield, enhance the enterprise competitive ability in the market.Die castings of this research, is a pump body by one of Shenyang die casting factoryproduction, its structure is more complex, a plurality of holes and grooves, itsproduction is difficult. The pump body in the existing production process,have aserious shrinkage, shrinkage phenomenon, castings pressure test failed, castingsquality unqualified.Using ProCAST software, according to the liquid alloy pouring temperature, moldtemperature, injection speed, gate thickness and other parameters. Orthogonal test wereused for numerical simulation, obtain the temperature field and flow field change rule.Combined with the location and size of casting shrinkage cavity, shrinkage porosity,optimize the best technological process parameters for: injection speed is5m/s, pouring temperature of the alloy is630℃, die preheating temperature is190℃, gate thickness of2.5mm.Die casting production in the process parameters, the filling process is stable,without any Volume of gas phenomenon. Its solidification process is sequentialsolidification, Production of die castings no macroscopic defects, Appeared only a smallamount of micro shrinkage cavity, shrinkage porosity, Get high quality qualified pumpbody die castings.Numerical simulation of the counting machine accuracy is evidenced by die casting experiments. The practical difficulties were solved in the production of pump body diecastings. The quality of the products has been improved; also improve the economicbenefit and social benefit for the enterprise.
