Inkjet printing have become the most potential development in thedevelopment of digital printing technology, because of its unique technicalcharacteristics. In recent years, Inkjet printhead as a core component of inkjetprinting equipment have had a rapid development. Piezoelectric on-demandinkjet printhead are used in many digital printing equipments, because theyhave many advantages, such as heir fast response, long service life, applyingto a variety of ink and variable volume of the ink drops. Inkjet printhead belongto microelectronics precision products, the most core technologies have beenmonopolized by the company, such as Xaar. In this paper, it has beenresearched the structure of main application products——piezoelectric inkjetprinthead, and provides basic theoretical information for the researching ofdomestic inkjet printhead.The structure of piezoelectric printhead mainly includes: the cover, the inkinlet, electrical connections, actuator, chassis and so on. The properties ofshear mode inkjet actuator have the most direct influence on the inkjetcharacteristics of piezoelectric printhead. This paper has been researchedand analyzed basic design theory of the shear mode piezoelectric actuators,in order to compare the effect of inkjet characteristics in different structure ofactuators, it has been studied the piezoelectric coupling analysis of twodifferent actuator channel wall by ANSYS, and obtained the deflection of thechannel walls after the applied voltage.In order to verify the result of piezoelectric coupling analysis of the shearmode piezoelectric actuator, it has been done an experiment of dropsmovement behavior about the two corresponding actuator structurepiezoelectric inkjet printhead, using the drops viewer including high-speedphotography observation system, according to comparing the inkjet speed andink drop volume of the two kinds of inkjet printhead.
