With the development of national economy, the quantity demanded of high quality steel is becoming bigger and bigger. Electroslag remelting steel has fine performance and more product category, so it is becoming more and more practical significance to study static and dynamic characteristics of electroslag furnace structure performance according to technological requirements of Electroslag smelting.According to the electricity dregs smelting technological requirement and Electroslag furnace’s performance parameter, static and dynamic analysis of20t frame type Electroslag furnace under typical working conditions are achieved, the finite element analysis ANSYS-Workbench is used in all the analysis, take the finite element method and the mechanical kinetics as the basic theory,The rigidity and structural strength of Electroslag furnace are gained through the static analysis, the Electroslag furnace structure’s dynamic characteristic and the transient response when Electroslag furnace brake are well commanded through dynamic analysis. Experience for design and improvement of Electroslag furnace is accumulated in this article. The main contents are as follow:(1) The frame Eelectroslag furnace’s structure and function are described in detail. Some structures of the Electroslag furnace are simplified according to Electroslag furnace’s feature. Three-dimensional geometry model of Eelectroslag furnace which can accurately reflects actual situation is constructed in SolidWorks2009.(2) The maximum stress and the strain position are obtained through static analysis when fully loaded. The conclusion that the Electroslag furnace overall construction satisfies the work requirement in the full load work time intensity and the rigidity is also conformed through the static analysis.(3) The electroslag furnace frame bolt flange connection intersection’s equivalent dynamics model is established. The bolt flange junction plane normal, the tangential dynamic characteristic parameter are obtained through the research of dynamic characteristic of actual conjoint faces which uses Masataka Yoshimura method. The bolt flange junction plane is modeled dynamically that uses spring-damping unit. Dynamic characteristic analysis of Electroslag furnace is done when takes bolt flange junction plane into consideration, and another analysis is also done without considering bolt flange junction plane. Two kinds of modal analysis are carried on when without load and full load. The first16-order natural frequency and vibration model figure are obtained and corresponding explanations are given.(4) The load on the whole electroslag furnace frame construction will transient change and vibration of the construction will occur when electroslag furnace starts and brakes while walking on the rail. Transient analysis is carried on while the electroslag furnace brakes suddenly. The system’s elastic vibration rule and dynamic response are obtained when brakes. By the end, corresponding explanations are given.
