In recent years, China’s food safety problems have occurred frequently, especially the dairy quality and safety problems which draw the large attention of the public. Various dairy companies and government departments use dairy traceability system in dairy production process and product environmental information physicochemical information storage management for strengthening the supervision of product quality safety. Through registrating the related products through a unique identifier in the system, it can achieve traceability of historical production data. Since there are many factors which can jeopardize the safety and quality in the dairy production process, how to collect various types of product information and environmental information in a timely and reliable manner to achieve interoperability of different data in the system has become a major problem.Because the Internet of things have the features of full-awareness and interoperability, the Internet of things applied to the traceability systems can achieve to collect all types of production information and the share between perception network and the traceability system. The middleware plays a critical component in Internet of Thing, which shields the differences and the diversity of the device, and provides a unified data communication interface for the upper layer applications.In this paper, a message-oriented middleware model was designed based on the middleware design philosophy and OSGi specification. It uses message transmission mechanism and platform-independent data exchange message transmission. OSGi specification combines enhanced middleware support for multiple data acquisition devices, dynamic install and uninstall software function modules.Message transfer mechanism was used to achieve platform-independent data exchange. Using OSGi specification can greatly enhance the compatibility of middleware to support various data collection devices. And in the background of large amount of data, in order to avoid performance issues in the middleware caused by competition of resources and information loss, implementing filtering algorithm based on HashTable data structure reduces the pressure data processing in the middleware.In the Dairy traceability systems, middleware was used to collect and process the sensing data to unify the various data communication protocols to achieve interoperability between different data. Middleware provides a data base for the dairy traceability system.
