Currently, there are about 3,500 million smokers in our country. And China’s share of the world market in the production and sales of tobacco nearly one-third. China’s tobacco industry continues to keep steady increase. In recent years, however, food safety incidents happen frequently, raising concern that whether the tobacco products they buy are fake and inferior products or safe. Therefore, it is necessary to build traceability system for tobacco product quality, which can record the information during plant and distribution. This system also provides querying for the consumers, thereby ensuring product safety. This article designs and realizes the tobacco traceability system based on Internet of things, according to the characteristics of traceability system and the actual situation of China’s tobacco industry.This thesis concludes that we can supervise and control of all the links including planting, purchasing, transportation by utilizing the technologies of Internet of things and two-dimensional code. Using these technologies can increase production efficiency greatly and improved production quality, and it also can make the consumers separate the true from the false. Moreover, the consumers can trace the source of the whole process of tobacco product produce and circulate when they meet quality problems. So in order to protecting consumer rights, the people involved will be held accountable specifically. Also, market regulator can monitor the production of tobacco enterprise activities effectively and legally, and tobacco industry can improve quality and production process flow pertinently.This study realizes the real time collection and record of information and stores the large amounts of information in the RFID tag by using the technologies of Internet of things from production field to redrying. In addition, during the process of circulation of tobacco products, the two-dimensional code which printed on the wrapping makes market regulator, tobacco industry and consumer know the tobacco product simply and quickly. The concrete content is as follows:(1) Processes of tobacco produce, acquisition, transportation and circulate were analyzed in detail.(2) Using the technologies of Internet of things, we can collect and record the information of tobacco from production field to redrying.(3) Consumer can trace the origin of tobacco product based on the two-dimensional code.
