Electroslag furnace is a smelting equipment which uses large current to smelting common straight carbon steel; the mechanical properties of smelting slag steel can reach or exceed the level of forgings. With the rapid development of industry, the performance requirement to steel becomes higher and higher. This case makes the electroslag remelting furnace become the mainstream and trend, it will be used more and more widely.In this dissertation, it uses ANSYS software to analyze electroslag furnace mechanical structure.The mechanical structure of the electroslag furnace mainly includes two parts:the electrode holding wishbone and the column. The topic uses Solidworks software to establish solid model of the electroslag furnace. After the successful importion of ANSYS software, the topic makes the whole mechanical equipment finite element analysis. Because the column is the main bearing component, so analysis column section separately.The rollers of electrode holding wishbone do reciprocate motion on the orbit, the contact form of the wheel and rail is line between surface contact, so the wheel and rail in contact position produce larger stress. The excessive contact stress leads to wheel and rail produce plastic deformation, makes the equipment in process produce strong shock and vibration. The topic based on the two-dimensional model of rail and roller as the research object and make compared with the HZ theory solution. The two methods of calculation have1.2%errors. According to analysis to the common used several sets of rolls, the topic list the maximum allowable stress of the rolls. It provides some reference and basis for designers to select roller.The column is one of the main bearing components; the quality of column is about35%of the whole equipment. This topic uses APDL method to establish column mathematical model in ANSYS, define the greatest stress and maximum strain as constraints and set the lightest weight of column as objective function. It uses ANSYS software to make optimized design to the column. The work makes the weight less than18%of initial model. The purpose is make model stress and strain distribution more reasonable and make full use of materials.This methed reduces production cost and provide a new idea and method for designers in the later optimizing job offers.The topic analyzed the calculation results show that electroslag furnace structure satisfy the intensity and rigidity requirement, the results of the analysis for designers in the later design process provides the theory basis and the reference.
