Slewing ring is an important part of some construction machinery rotation mechanism. Generally, surface of slewing ring’s raceway requires having enough hardness and wearing resistance and meanwhile the core is demand to have good ductility and toughness. Because of heating speed, high efficiency, no pollution, medium frequency induction hardening is widely used in surface induction hardening of slewing ring. Although a wide range of advantages and different, traditional raceway surface intermediate frequency induction hardening mechanism can’t solve the problem of induction hardening soft belt. This paper summarizes the traditional raceway surface hardening, designs a slewing ring quenching mechanism, which not only improves the quenching efficiency but also eliminating the quenching soft belt.This paper describes the structural characteristics of slewing ring, analyzes the working characteristics of the existing equipment slewing ring induction hardening mechanism and sensors, the scope and the main advantages and disadvantages. On the basis of the old-fashioned induction hardening machine, this paper devises a slewing ring quenching mechanism without soft belt, introduces the principle of free software in general and the advantages and disadvantages with hardening machine, and no soft with induction hardening machine device and operating platforms motion parameters analysis, a mathematical formula which expresses the sensor devices and mobile work platforms. The uniform EFM model of eddy current field and temperature field is set on A model of the company’s prototype slewing bearings.The induction magnetic field and the transient temperature distribution is obtained by means of calculation for heating process. The medium frequency induction hardening case is simulated by finite element analysis software ANSYS, which got the slewing ring internal temperature distribution with three different levels of current. At last, some working parameters without soft belt quenching mechanism according to the heating time were obtained.
