Synthesis And Application Of Non-formaldehyde Easy-care Agent Of Modified Polyvinyl Acetate Emulsion

At present, the DMDHEU finishing agent was used as main easy-care agent of chemical finishing textile, because the DMDHEU finishing agent had excellent easy care property. But the formaldehyde was released during the procedure of production and application. The admitted DMeDHEU and BTAC no-formaldehyde easy-care agent were not be taken for the succedaneum of DMDHEU easy-care agent,due to its cost, cost performance and combination property. Therefore,it becomes a research focus to study ultra-low formaldehyde DMDHEU easy care finishing.In this paper, polyvinyl acetate no-formaldehyde easy-care agent was prepared by emulsion polymerization with vinyl acetate, styrene, acrylonitrile as monomers. The St and BA monomer ratio, the amount of functional monomer, the type and amount of cross-linking monomer, the initiating system, the type of protective colloid, the ratio and concentration of emulsifier was discussed. The structure of the synthetic latex was tested. The experiments showed that emulsion had sufficient blue ray, high conversion, small gel fraction, good waterproof and freeze thawing stability when potassium persulfate was used as initiator, polyvinyl glyoxal was used as protective colloid, the proportion of St:BA was1:1, AA dosage was2%, AN dosage was5%, NMA and EGDMA was used as cross-linking monomers, the amount of NMA was3%, the ratio of anionic and nonionic emulsifier was2:5, the amount of emulsifier was3%.The synthetic emulsion was applied to easy-care finishing of cotton fabric. The amount of functional monomer and cross-linking monomer on easy care property was discussed. The experiments showed that the more dosage of AN and NMA, the better dimensional stability of washed fabric. The finished cotton fabric had DP grade of3.5after home laundering,19%loss in strength,5.6%loss in whiteness and free formaldehyde. The cotton fabric which was finished by equal DMDHEU resin had89%loss in strength,20%loss in whiteness and40mg formaldehyde/lkg fabric.The optimized finishing process of polyvinyl acetate and DMDHEU resin easy-care agent was defined as follows:50g emulsion/1L water,30g methyl etherification DMDHEU resin/1L water,3g ammonium chloride/lL water. The finished cotton fabric had DP grade of3.5after home laundering, shrinkage less than1%and free formaldehyde.
