The loader is a commonly used mining equipment in mines. The mount and thebucket rods of the loader of ZWY type involed in this paper fractured during service, soit is necessary to figure out why and optimize the structure.Firstly, this paper attempts to analyze the static analysis of the working device onthe condition of typical working conditions by using the finite element software.Consedering that it is difficult to analysis the rods and the mount separately due to thecomplexity of stress and the uncertainty of the boundary conditions, the working deviceis analyzed as a whole in this chapter. The result shows that the stress concentrationoccurrs on the mount and the bucket rod where the working device fractures in reality, which proves that the fracture is caused by local structural shortage. Meanwhile, theboom rod is stressed not too much which indicates that it has special performanceoptimizations available.Secondly, the topology optimization, size optimization, shape optimization andcomprehensive optimization of the working device are orderly carried out under variouswork conditions. Although each aim of optimization is different, the goals are the same, both aimed at reducing the weight of the working device as much as possible under thepremise of ensuring sufficient strength and rigidity. Through the optimization, the valueof maximum von Mises stress and the weight of the working device reduce significantly. Finally, the modal analysis method is applied in order to know the change of thedynamic performance of the working device. The result shows that the value of the firstfundamental natural frequency of the optimized boom rod is low, which proves that theoptimization makes the dynamic performance of the boom rod drops off markedly, so theboom rod is re-optimized by taking the increasement of the first order natural frequencyas the optimization object. The first order natural frequency of the optimized boom rodimproves significally through the re-optimization.The exsiting problems of the structure of the ZWY type loader is found and thestructure is improved and optimized through the application of the modern designmethods, which makes the static and dynamic performance of the working deviceimprove dramatically, and can provide a meaning design reference for other engineering machineries.
