Jingdezhen with a long history of porcelain making, and it’s the China Ceramics Capital. The kilns is the indispensable and key part in porcelain-manufacturing, plays a significant role in the production process. At the present, domestically, great achievements have been made in researching furnace in the respects of structure, produding raft, temperature measurement, kiln sites etc. However, there’s few descriptions and conclusions in the evolvement and development in the old furnaces in Jingdezhen, whose glory can only be found in some reports and documents. Some domestic experts only made some simple and segmental analysis in these regards. Then, I’d like to make some discussion about their evolvement and development in Jingdezhen. In accordance with the relevant reports and analysis of many exports in these aspects, I will make some conclusion on the reasons for the evolvement and the relations of the development. In this essay, I make some collections and conclusions about the kiln sites in different dynasties and analysis in the aspects of location, time duration and starting dynasty as well as the times and location of the porcelain-manufacturing industry, which will provide foundation for research on the kiln sites of ancient ceramics.Through the analysis on the discovery of kiln sites, it mainly analyses the discovery, structure, development and links among the different types in time clues(late Tang dynasty—Nansong dynasty, Yuan dynasty, late Yuan dynasty mid-Ming dynasty, late Ming dynasty—mid-Qing dynasty), through which it comes up with the rules of the evolvement of furnace forms.Through the summary of ancient kiln sites, arrangements in terms of times and location, it discusses about the migration of the kiln sites, reasons of the evolvement, analyses the unearthed relics and inducts the reasons for their evolvement through the comparison of the rates of finished product, delicacy and complexity of craft. To sum up, it analyses the reasons for furnace evolvement in terms of kiln sites migration and reservation of unearthed relics.
