Polyamide (PA), commonly known as nylon, is a polymer material connected throughan amide bond, its products have good elasticity, abrasion resistance, durability, low density,high heat resistance, chemical resistance and self-lubricating, etc. and low coefficient offriction, but also has some flame resistance, ease of processing, it has been become theautomotive, electronics, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, weapons and other industriesindispensable structural materials. Polysulfonamides (PAs), containing sulfonamidefunctional groups, which is Widely used in the biomedical, dyes, surfactants and plasticizers.poly (amide-sulfonamide)s,its main chain Containing amide group and a sulfonamidegroup, combines of excellent performance polyamide and polyethylene sulfonamide hashigh heat resistance, good mechanical properties and good chemical stability under acidic andbasic conditions.In our paper, m-chlorosulfonyl benzoyl chloride was firstly synthesized in laboratoryunder mild conditions. Then poly (amide-sulfonamide)s was synthesized fromm-chlorosulfonyl benzoyl chloride and the four kinds of the aromatic diamines(4,4’-diaminodiphenyl ether and4,4’-diaminodiphenyl sulfone,4,4’-diaminodiphenylmethane and4,4’-Thiodianiline),the obtained polymers marked:polymer1、polymer2、polymer3and polymer4. The structure of PASAs were charactered by FT-IRand1H-MNR.The intrinsic viscosity of the polymer were tested by Ubbelohde Viscometer,The results showed that the polymer has a higher viscosity. By X-ray diffraction (XRD)proved wholly aromatic polyamide having a degree of sulfonamide crystallinity, but not highcrystallinity. TGA and DSC of polymers were tested In a nitrogen atmosphere, the resultsshow that polymers have better thermal stability. The solubility of the polymers were alsostudied, the polymer was found in addition to dissolving in a polar aprotic organic solvent(such as DMSO, DMAc, NMP and other organic solvents), Concentrated sulfuric acid andFormic acid,but they keep good chemical stability in the vast majority of the acidic andalkaline conditions.
