Based on the Y3150E gear hobbing machining of straight tooth face gear of tooth surfacedetection methods, the study in this paper is conducted. Tooth shape, tooth pitch, the contactspot and four noise test object are determined. By the use of laser scanner machine, the toothsurface of the face gear is detected. Face gear tooth pitch detection uses three coordinatemeasuring instruments. Meshing spots and noise detection of the face gear are made by themeshing test. The needed work is listed as follows:First of all, meshing test bench’s meshing experiment scheme is determined in which theturning machine is used. According to the test turning machine’s geometric parameters, thetest surface gear and spur gear’s geometry parameters is determined by meeting the face gearnot undercut and invariant. Face gear and spur gear three-dimensional model are establishedand assembled. The interference checks and motion simulation for assembly model verify thefeasibility of face gear geometry parameters.Secondly, by use of the Y3150E model hobbing machine and the homemade equipment,the test surface gear and spur gear are processed.Thirdly, the teeth surface of the face gear are tested by using scanner machine and thenthe errors of equal diameter between the scanned model and the theoretical model are got.Fourthly, the teeth surface of the face gear are tested by using three coordinate measuringmachine, choosing three teethes which are adjacent as the object, and chose eight points onthe same teeth surface, getting the location parameters of eight points by testing them, the getthe errors of pitch are gotten by comparing the tested parameters with the parameters oftheoretical model.Finally, the mesh experiment test bench is built. By doing this experiment, the contactspots and noise detection of the face gear are made.
