Oil which is one of the based energy is getting more and more important in life and production with the development of human society and the progress of science and technology. Traditional continental oil resources are on the verge of exhaustion with huge demand, so the world now pay more attention to sea oil exploitation and utilization. It has been widely used that jack-up rigs are suitable for various sea conditions and depth ranges which move handily and are easy constructed and used in the existing sea oil mining equipments.In order to improve the efficiency, jack-up rigs usually set the cantilever beam that support and provide the ability to shift the platform in the stern.From the angle of the platform itself, cantilever beam structure is also a very important part which is not only has important contact with the platform scheme, but also has important connections with the environmental parameters of service oilfield.This thesis studies based on a120meter depth drilling platform which operated in the central south of North Sea for structural design. Its Designed environmental data meet the requirements of one hundred years and its structure design meet the requirements of rules of ABS.From data analyzed by consulting relevant literature, the operation in the environmental characteristics of south central North Sea is fixed and then ling calculation combined with structure FE analysis is used for design of cantilever structure. At the end, this paper completes the design task to lay the foundation for future similar design of jack-up rigs cantilever structure.
