China is a big country of energy demand,2013, the national coalproduction reached3.52billion tons,about78.6%of the total primary energyproduction.Research in the field of mine safety has important economic andsocial value.Mine fire is one of the five traditional coal mine disasters,likely tocause significant casualties and property losses, and the proportion ofspontaneous combustion of coal mine fire caused more than56%.Therefore, it isimportant to research the prevention methods of spontaneous combustion ofcoal.Retarders for prevention of coal spontaneous combustion is a methodwhich is simple, efficient and economic. The paper selects two kinds of commonhalide salt retarder-Calcium chloride and magnesium chloride, and based on theconcentration of20%,adding different amounts of flocculant PAM as compoundretarder, After the experimental coal sample has been treatment,the programmed temperature rising test was applied to the study on the variation laws ofspontaneous combustion characteristics of the coal samples after has beenretarded, use the changing rule of CO and O2, Inhibition rate and otherparameters as evaluation standard of retarders’ inhibitory performance. The testresults showed that: On the basis of selection of calcium chloride, magnesiumchloride as Retarders, add a certain amount of PAM can improve the inhibitoryperformance; With the increase of the amount of PAM, inhibitory performancewas first increased and then decreased. When the weight of the coal sample is50g,selected20%calcium chloride as Retarder,Luning,Wuyang,Tunliu coal canachieve the best inhibitory performance Under the conditions that the amount of0.6,0.8,0.6gPAM was added respectively; while selected20%magnesiumchloride as Retarder,Luning,Wuyang,Tunliu coal can achieve the best inhibitoryperformance Under the conditions that the amount of0.8,0.8,0.6gPAM wasadded respectively.The research contents of this paper may Provide theoretical andexperimental evidence for the forther study of effect rule of retardercompounding, Exploration green, economical and efficient retarders,and boththe research and application of Retarders for prevention of coal spontaneouscombustion.
