A Study On FDI Spatial Technology Spillover Effect In BOHAI Economic Circle

With the development of the economic globalization and integration, a growing number of multinational corporations have deemed an investment in China as the most appropriate strategy. Recently, multinational corporations investment showing a phenomenon of region FDI agglomeration, which has received high attention from academic circles. The FDI spatial technology spillover effect which will diffuse from one area to some adjacent areas, putting forward a new way to harmonize regional economic development, especially promote backward areas to catch up the developed areas. Based on FDI agglomeration status of the BOHAI economic circle, this paper studies on FDI spatial technology spillover effect, which has a practical significance to quicken the economic development, improved the ability of attracting foreign capital of BoHai economic circle.Firstly, the effect theory of spatial technology spillover is elaborated by this paper, operational mechanism of FDI spatial technology spillover is analyzed, and its beingness, pattern, influnce factors and pathway are discussed. Secondly, a study on spatial autocorrelation analysis of BoHai economic circle is further conducted, with use of spatial correlation analysis based on the FDI stutas. Our result shows that spatial correlation does exist, presenting FDI spatial agglomeration. Thirdly, an empirical study on FDI spatial technology spillover effect of BoHai economic circle is conducted using panel data over past ten years and a newer spatial panel measurement technology. Spatial weight matrix W in this paper not only means dioic adjacency matrix, but also distance function matrix between two adjacent cities. The empirical result suggests that FDI has both inner-region and inter region spatial technology spillover, which proves that spatial technology spillover does exist in BoHai economic circle. Thus it can be seen that FDI will cross-regionlly diffuse from developed areas to backward areas, putting forward a new way to quicken narrow regional disparity, promote regional economic development. At last, policy suggestions are concluded that BoHai economic circle should perfect infrastructure, strengthen regional enterprises cooperation and government guidance.
