A Study On Jiaonan Enterprises' Technology Standardization Strategies

The 21st century is the era when winning depends upon standardization. To develop, implement standardization strategies is also an important and urgent historical task, which is the same as the development of technical standards. As an eastern coastal city in Shandong Province, Jiaonan in recent years has made gratifying achievements on accelerating industrial upgrading and economic structural adjustment. But in the long run, its leading industries can't give impetus to others in a large area. Compared to the developed countries and the developed areas at home, the quality and the level of economic development in Jiaonan has clearly lagged behind, and the enterprise's market competitiveness is not strong. All these issues need to be solved by developing and implementing technology standardization strategies in line with the current state of Jiaonan.This paper aims to produce technology standardization strategies consistent with the actual situations in Jiaonan, and the priciple line of it is to enhance the overall competitive advantages of the leading industries and enterprises'core competitive abilities. Useful explorations are made on the development and implementaion of technology standardization strategies with Jiaonan's characteristics from the government (the Association) and enterprises levels respectively.The Introduction part, chapter one, mainly presents the background, the significance, and the status quo at home and abroad of the research as well as the relevant domestic and international experiences on the implementation of technology standardization strategies. Finally the main ideas of this paper and research methods are introduced in this chapter.At the beginning of the second chapter, some basic theories related to technology standardization strategies are introduced, and then some major concepts, such as technical standards, technical standardization, are elaborated. It mainly analyzes the influencing mechanism of enterprises'technology standardization strategies on industry competitive advantages and enterprises core competitive abilities, meanwhile, the comprehensive analysis is also made on the composition of enterprise technology standardization strategies and the benefits of its implementation.In chapterⅢ, the survey of Jiaonan enterprises' technology standardization are analyzed by the means of questionnaires, and the following seven issues faced by Jiaonan technology standardization are summarized:the weak consciousness towards standardization, backward ideology; the adopted standard rate among traditional industries is low; the market adaptability of technical standards is poor; the lack of personnel, funds and agencies engaged on standardization; technology standardization system is imperfect, and enterprises lack in their own standardization strategies; the scale of the enterprises is small, the level of technical standards is lower, and the capacity of carrying out independent standardization is weak; leading industry's associations have not been in full play.In chapterⅣ, on the basis of the preceding analysis, Jiaonan's enterprise initially are put forward, combined with the actual situation of Jiaonan enterprises. Meanwhile, the guidelines, principles which should be followed Jiaonan technology standardization strategies as well as strategic objectives and tasks are proposed. Social economic benefits from the implementation of these strategies are also analyzed.Based on the conclusion of the previous discussions and drawing the experiences from both developed countries and developed areas at home, the last two chapters of the thesis put forward some suggestion on how to better develop and implement enterprises technology standardization stretegies from the government (the Association) and business levels respectively.
