On Culturing Students' Professional Abilities

With the deep development of world economy's globalization and intergradations', the trades between different countries are becoming more intensive and frequent. The tourism of China has undergone an unprecedented large-scale development,which intends to internationalize and needs more specialized persons in tourism.The vocational school is the basis of training and offering specialized persons in tourism, which should grasp this chance to expand the numbers of the students to meet the needs of the society.Through the investigation we can find out easily, the students whom the vocational school trained are facing an embarrassing situation. On one hand, the students are not suitable for the practical work of the tour guide and they don't have the advantage in the competition; on the other hand, the students can't easily find the jobs related to their major. This is because the whole society admires the high educational background and calls for the high quality persons. The main component is that we don't form the distinguishing feature in teaching and we haven't formed the competitive capacities.At present,with the development of the tourism,it calls for the high level working staff. If the tour guides want to fulfill their jobs,they should have higher vocation capacities. Vacation capacities include the consciousness of the vocation, the vocation knowledge, the vocation quality and so on.The study is to investigate what kind of vocation capacities the tour guides should have and how to train the vocation capacities. The capacities of the tour guide are analyzed through the obligations of the tour guide and the needs of the tourists.In order to investigate the working conditions of the vocational students and the teaching deeply, the researcher designed two questionnaires towards the travel agency and the students. Through the data analysis, the differences between the capacities of the vocational students and the needs of the travel agencies are shown. The problems of the vocational school training are found. Some improvement methods are raised, which offer the basis for the cultivating of the talents.
