Research On China's Soybean Industry Under The Pattern Of World Trade

As a major source of animal protein,albumen and edible vegetable oil in consumer's diet structure, soybeans play an important role in the agriculture area both in the world and China. As the original country of soybeans, China once was the most important soybean producing and exporting country throughout the world. But after the year of 1996, this situation changed dramatically. Since 1996, China has changed into net importing country from net exporting country of soybeans, and China became more and more dependent on importing soybeans in order to satisfy the domestic demand these years. The condition made China have no way in the price decision in the global soybean market,controlled by international capital and grow more slowly in soybean crop farming. Therefore, it is necessary to study the condition of soybean industry in China under the world trade pattern and promote the strategies.This thesis firstly analyzes the world trade pattern of soybean and its cause of formation. In the soybean global market, America and South America dominate the exporting market in the world and China dominates the importing market. Then it analyzes its formation reason from the aspects of production,consumption,production policies and trade policies. Further, this thesis use economic analysis to compare the change in status in the soybean exporting countries nowadays. Secondly, this thesis probes into the conditions of exporting and importing in soybean and its impact on China. Specifically, it includes the advantages and disadvantages in the export,the reasons of swift growth in import and the conditions in soybean industry chains. At last, the thesis promotes the strategies of China's soybean industry from the macro,meso and micro aspects. Its core is"import soybean and develop the processing industry". Specifically, China shouldn't effect non-tariff barriers and control the import of soybean oil reasonably; encouraging the export of soybean oil and soybean meal to add the profits in soybean industry; enhancing the direct subsidies to add the incomes of farmers; the government should protect the development of soybean squeezing industry to promote the ability of further processing.
