In the knowledge economy time, Technology innovation is a necessary means to achieve competitive advantage, and the key point to improve the performance of technological innovation is to integration and utilization of internal and external social resources. Although the issue of knowledge transfer between organizations has been the focus of scholars'research, besides increasing external linkages and promoting exchanges between the organizations, companies should also make internal coordination and coalition between units, especially in related diversified enterprises. Related diversified enterprises could share the information fully through internal knowledge transfer activities between the internal unites, then generate the advantages of an internal coordination, so as to enhance the performance of technological innovation. Thus, the research on the relationship between, the knowledge transfer across units and the performance of technological innovation in the related diversification companies is necessary.In recent years, studies of social capital has been widespread concerned in business and academia. Through influencing the knowledge transfer between members in relational network, social capital promote the exchange of resources among individuals or units and the establishment of links, thereby affecting the company's innovation performance, create value for the organization. Therefore, the role of cross-unit social capital on knowledge transfer and the company's technological innovation performance can not be ignored, this paper mainly proofs the relations between the structural dimension,relational dimension and cognition dimension, the knowledge transfer across units and company's technological innovation performance.Based on social capital, knowledge transfer and technological innovation theory, this paper composites many scholars'research results home and abroad, mainly concerning the impact of knowledge transfer between the various business units, departments or teams on technological innovation performance within related diversified companies, and it also concerns the impact of social capital on knowledge transfer across units and technological innovation performance. This study systematically summarized the relation between the social capital and knowledge transfer and the relation between social capital and technological innovation performance and the relation between knowledge transfer and technological innovation performance, ultimately coming to the theoretical model of this study.This study used survey methods for data collection, during the data anglicizing, the writer used the factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression and structural equation models and so on, to verify the assumptions in the model. Analyzing by the summary of qualitative and quantitative empirical analysis, this study contains the following conclusions:(1) Based on regression analysis and structural equation model analysis, the structural dimension, relational dimension and cognitive dimension of social capital have a positive significant effect on knowledge transfer across unit. What's more, the effect of the level of knowledge transfer on technological innovations performance is also significant. In the structural equation model analysis, the results of the path analysis show that cross-unit knowledge transfer assume the role of an intermediary in the relation between social capital and technological innovation performance.(2) This article considers the degree of diversification as a separate control variable, studying the effect of relevance of diversification on technological innovation performance. Drawing from the empirical analysis, the higher the relevance of diversification, the more conducive to enhance technological innovation performance.(3) After the analysis, the writer concludes that the structural dimension, relational dimension and cognitive dimension of social capital have a significant positive effect on the technological innovation performance. However, during the structural equation model analysis, the cognitive dimension of social capital plays a very significant role in promoting the technological innovation performance, while the role of the structural and relational dimension is not significant.The main innovations of this paper have three points:First, combined with regression analysis and structural equation model analysis, it proves that cross-unit knowledge transfer play an intermediary in the relation between social capital and technological innovation performance of related diversified company. Second, the writer introduced the concept of relevance of diversification, and thereby used statistical analysis to proof that relevance of diversification has a significant positive correlation with technological innovation performance. Third, the deeper analysis of the relationship between thee dimensions of social capital shows that, it is by the cognitive dimension that the structural dimension and the relational dimension have an effect on the technology innovation performance.This study is funded by the project "The Research On The Knowledge Contribution Of The Electronic Practice Network In Perspective Of Social Capital ".
