The Role Of Social Capital In Industrial Clusters In Zhejiang And Its Evolution Process

The Industrial Clusters is an important factor to the regional economy integration and it has pushed regional economy and global economy greatly. Since Bourdieu defined social capital idea, Coleman and Putnam have developed them further. The social capital has been heatedly discussed in the world. However, there are almost no people studying the clusters from the angle of social capital. Thus, the paper try to study the social capital which come from the Industrial Clusters, analyze the function which take to the development of the Industrial Clusters. Totally speaking, the paper has done the following work:First of all, after studying the massive predecessor's related work, the paper gives the definition of the social capital and then analyzes the function take to the development of the Industrial Clusters emphatically.Secondly, the paper summary evolution law of the social capital type. When analyzing the social capital evolved mechanism, the paper explained it in using the Dissipative Structure Theory and the Transaction Costs Theory. This method has some theoretical innovation.At last, by field survey and data collection of YongKang metal clusters, the paper analyzes the evolution of social capital and mechanism in the metal clusters through the theoretical framework preceding, and finally improves the point.By combining theory and case analysis, we draw the following conclusions: First, the role which the social capital takes to the development of Industrial Clusters is different depend on the different stage. Specifically, in the origin stage, the social capital promotes the expansion of the cluster by imitation of business, private financing, and other effects of economy of scale. In the stage of development, social capital plays a role mainly in promoting the extension of industrial chain, the cluster effective cooperation. In the mature stage, the social capital mainly promote enhancement of innovation clusters, including accessing to innovative resources; helping enterprises reduce the uncertainty of innovation; the innovation of cluster group.Secondly, with the development and evolution of industrial clusters, the type of social capital has gone from the relationship-based organizations related to the organization-based and then to the system based on evolution. While depth analysis of the evolution mechanism, we can think of that the evolution of social capital is actually a personification of transactions from the changes to the impersonal transactions.Therefore, considering the main problems which take place in the development of cluster in Zhejiang, the current main task of building social capital is to develop the concept of people's trust in the system, the government enacted a variety of effective formal or informal system to play a reconciling role of intermediary organizations, and social capital heritage issues.
