Since the reform and opening up of China, sustained economic and social development and people's rising living standards become the mainstream of our social development. Since the 1990s, China began to be known as the economic transition and social transformation. However, with economic development, deepening of reform and expansion of economic globalization, there is increasing number of urban residents in poverty, the gap between rich and poor is increasing everyday, urban poverty is increasingly aroused the concern of the government and the community. Urban poverty is affected by the system transformation and the open-door to the outside world. The opening up means that economy has entered into the globalized world economy. Shocks from External will inevitably influence all aspects of the domestic.First of all, this paper discusses the basic theory of the economic globalization and the urban poor, and then research the general mechanism of the impact of economic globalization on the urban poverty. In subsequent chapters, expand the discussion of style, analysis of the economic impact of globalization on China's urban poverty specificity. Finally, get the results by the empirical research that Eastern and Midwestern cities in China are influenced by economic globalization under varying degrees and get the measurement of the relationships of urban poverty and foreign trade, foreign direct investment. Mainly use the method of theoretical and empirical analysis, combining the regional economics, development Economics, sociology and related disciplines of knowledge and analysis. At the end of the theoretical and empirical analysis, propose policy recommendations and conduct strategic thinking to reduce urban poverty, expand the positive impact of foreign direct investment, reduce the negative impact of economic globalization. Provide basic theoretical information and other aspects of the various economic and social policies to coordinate external and internal economic and promote economic development, employment, income, social protection, improve the practice guidance of research.
