Research On Relations Between Supply Chain Governance Structure And Supply Chain Performance

Since 1990's, with the economy globalization accelerated, Customer needs differentiation strengthened, Competition between enterprises been increased, Business environment Enterprises are facing becomes increasingly more complex and more uncertain. Enterprises relying on their own strength alone can not cope with more fierce market competition, But should take advantages of the power of the supply chain to effectively integrate superior resources form supply chain members, So as to improve the competitiveness of enterprises. Therefore, it is obvious that the traditional enterprise-centered management concept should be replaced with modern supply chain management concept. The core of supply chain management is cooperation; all enterprises in the supply chain should try to establish strategic partnership. On the basis of trust and common purpose, which is informal long-turn agreements build by upstream and downstream enterprises along the supply chain with resources, risks and incomes being shared among partners. But the various companies in the supply chain are independent economic entities, all have their own goals and interests, their relationship is still essentially a principal-agent relationship, individual rationality between them may ultimately increase the risk of opportunism, which is one of the main difficulties encountered during management of supply chain partnership. This paper, beginning with viewpoint of governing opportunistic risks, drew out theoretical model on the basis of analysis of supply chain partnership concept and theory and analyzed hypothesizes by data collection. The main research conclusion and innovative points are as followings:(1) This paper drew out the structure model of the relationship between supply chain partnership management structure and supply chain performance and environmental uncertainty regulatory role in the relationship, the paper also clearly defines contractual-based governance,relational-based governance,supply chain performance and environmental uncertainty. (2) Based on the obvious literature, the research scales of the contractual-based governance, relational-based governance, supply chain performance, environmental uncertainty are developed. After the inspection of reliability and validity, the results show these scales reflect China's national condition, suitable for measuring the basic situation of the enterprises in China during research and analysis of supply chain partner relationship management.(3) The paper assesses obvious study on supply chain partnership management and supply chain performance, pointed out the study on the relation between supply chain partner ship management structure and supply chain performance lacked empirical basis, and with the deficiencies of China's enterprise supply chain partner relationship management emphasized the necessity of partner relationship management.(4) This study suggests the relationship between supply chain partnership management and supply chain performance and environmental uncertainty regulatory role in the relationship. The empirical analysis concluded: Contractual-based governance has a positive effect on supply chain performance; Relational-based governance has a positive effect on supply chain performance; under high environmental uncertainty, the positive effects of contractual-based governance on supply chain performance will be weakened; under high environmental uncertainty, the positive effects of relational-based governance on supply chain performance will be strengthened.From a theoretical perspective, supply chain strategy partnerships governance and supply chain performance has been the key topic to research, many scholars have talk about the effect contractual-based governance and relational-based governance have on supply chain performance, But very scholars have done empirical research on their relations, at the same time, there is no paper to study the moderating effects of environmental uncertainty on relationships between supply chain strategy partnerships governance and supply chain performance. Therefore, this study can not only improve the supply chain strategy partnerships management theory, also has important theoretical value on thorough research of supply chain performance.From a practical perspective, this paper further studies relationship between supply chain strategy partnerships governance and supply chain performance, also analyzed the moderating effects of environmental uncertainty, which Can let enterprise clear know how to right supply chain partnerships governance structure to reduce the risk of opportunism, so as to improve the supply chain performance. The conclusion has very important practical significance.
