Empirical Analysis On Industrial Competitiveness Of Gansu

The current economic competition has become increasingly focused on the performance of the industrial competitiveness between regions and regional industrial competitiveness has become the most important factor of regional economic development. In this paper we attempt to analysis and evaluate the industrial competitiveness of Gansu Province,to provide some decision-making references and suggestions for the industrial and economical development of Gansu. Firstly this article startes from the theory, analyzes the study of the foreign national and industry level on industrial competitiveness, reviewes the nation study on the content of regional competitiveness,theoretical basis,influential factors,the evaluational index system and other aspects of the improved measures, and on this base, we establish the analytic framework of the regional industrial competitiveness. Secondly, this paper analyzes the current situation and achievements of three major industries in Gansu Province by applying data in statistical yearbook and points out the existing imbalance in industrial structure in the industrial development, and other major problems. Then, we construct a model of industrial competitiveness to analyze the competitive level of Gansu Province:first we build the evaluational index system with Delphi rules to evaluate the total industrial competitiveness of five northwestern provinces,only to make a conclusion that the industrial competitiveness in Gansu Province is low; Second, we use factor analysis and the statistical software, establishing the evaluational index system of the regional industrial competitiveness,to analysis the competitive level of 35 industries in Gansu province to find the advanced and unadvanced industries.The final is the concluding part of this paper,a summary of the limitations in this paper,and directions for further research.
