Unemployment is the necessary product of the modern market economy operation. Nowadays the employment in our country is especially more serious along with the economic restructuring and the rapid increase of workforce. Large numbers of laid-off people seriously impede the economic growth and social stabilization. Therefore, how to solve the problem of reemployment properly is a matter of prime concern of our government. Unemployment security system is a common measure adopted by each government. There is no exception to China. After more than 10 years of development, Chinese employment security system plays an active role in guaranteeing the basic life of laid-off workers and maintaining social stability, however, it has not gained noticeable achievements in helping laid-off and jobless people to find reemployment.Facing the complicated and volatile social and economic environment, this thesis takes the unemployment insurance system as the breakthrough point and studies the role of the unemployment insurance system in promoting reemployment. Firstly we conduct the theoretical analysis of the effect of the unemployment insurance system on promoting reemployment, showing that the unemployment insurance system has not been brought into full play. Next we analyze the deficiency of the Chinese unemployment insurance system in supportive effect and employment promotion. Then we utilize the statistics to analyze the role of the Chinese unemployment insurance system in promoting reemployment from 3 aspects of re-employment funds, training and professional introduction. Finally, we propose suggestions on improving the role of Chinese unemployment security system in promoting reemployment.
