The deeper market-oriented reform and violent competition in the power industry will promote the management innovation and performance improvement, only through which the power enterprise could adapt to the requirement of reform and development. The implementation of performance management will play a itive role on promoting the management innovation, enhancing the effectiveness O(?) management plans, and improving the managerial expertise of managers. In this paper, considering the existing problem of performance management in Beijing EHV Power, we proposed a set of reform program for performance management and established a set of performance appraisal system which is suitable for the c(?)aracteristics of power enterprise, which provided a substantial basis for increasing the level of human resource management, improving the competitive ability of the enterprise in the market, and achieving the strategic objectives of the enterprises. In this paper, four contents including strengthening the performance management concept, optimizing the performance indicator system, innovating the performance management methods, improving the performance review processes were studied to solve the practical problems in Beijing EHV Power. In performance indicators system, responsibility matrix and "three-grade key performance indicators system" were applied to deeply analyze the preparation process of the performance indicators and determine its importance in the whole performance management system. During the establishment of the performance appraisal system, the appraisal result was widely applied on the basis of expanding the content of performance appraisal, innovating the appraisal methods, and improving the appraisal process, which provided a basis for stimulating the enthusiasm of staffs and efficient achievement of the strategic objectives. In the whole system, the construction of performance indicators system is the basis, the improvement of the performance appraisal system is the shoring, and the strengthening of the communication and feedback is guarantee. Four crucial tasks including plan preparation, indicator construction, appraisal and application, and counseling and improvement were creatively used to promote the running of the performance management system in power grid enterprises. It was proved through the practice that this improvement program for performance management is effective and feasible.
